DOA MUNAJAT AND TAZKIRAH INVIGORATE MALAM MUNAJAT

Malam Munajat organised by the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MORA) which is held every Saturday and Sunday night continues again tonight for the 50th time and this week is organized in collaboration with the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).


The Malam Munajat event was participated by MORA and PMO staffs and their families along with their subordinate departments.


Congregations from 92 mosques, surau and prayer halls across the country including PDI Haji Abdul Mokti Mosque, Kampung Burung Pingai Ayer and Perpindahan Kampung Mata-Mata Mosque, in Brunei-Muara District participated in the Malam Munajat Event. 


In addition, Kampung Penanjong Mosque and Kampung Layong Mosque in Tutong, RPN Kampung Pandan in Belait as well as Kampung Piasau-Piasau surau and Kampung Sibut prayer hall in Temburong also took part. 


Malam Munajat was initiated with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah led by the Minister at the Prime Minsiter’s Office, Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Mejar Jeneral (R) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd. Yussof from Ash-Shaliheen Mosque, PMO.


Afterwards, the mass recitation of Surah Yaa Siin  was jointly led by the Permanent Secretary (Civil Service Governance), PMO, Awang Ajman bin Haji Meludin and the Permanent Secretary, PMO Department of Energy, Awang Haji Azhra bin Haji Yahya along with PMO officers and staffs from Ash-Shaliheen Mosque, PMO. 


The event continued with Doa Munajat recited by Buhuth Officer, Jabatan Mufti Kerajaan, Haji Martino @Abd. Azim bin Haji Ahmad. 


Tazkirah titled ‘Encouragement to be a Strong Believer’ was also presented during the event by temporary Work Officer, Research and Publication Centre, UNISSA / Da'ie Bertauliah Majlis Ugama Islam Brunei (MUIB), Awang Hamzah bin Awang Haji Jali from Mohamed Bolkiah Mosque, Kampung Serusop. 


The event was followed by the recitation of Selawat Tafrijiyyah led by Acting Deputy Director, Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, PMO, Awang Haji Muhammad Ibrahim bin Haji Juma’at. 


To grace the event, Doa Peliharakan Sultan and Negara Brunei Darussalam by Mosque Affairs Officer, Department of Mosque Affairs, MORA, Awang Mohamad bin Haji Bagol from Universiti Mosque, Universiti Brunei Darussalam was recited. 


Also present at the Malam Munajat event were the Minister of Religious Affairs, Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman and the Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs, Yang Mulia Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohammad Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan. 


The public is welcome to participate in spiritual events such as Malam Munajat to draw closer to Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala to seek His forgiveness, recite Surah Yaa Siin and zikr as well as pray in congregation with the intention to seek His protection so that Brunei Darussalam and its people are always protected from any unwanted calamity and from the spread of COVID-19.
