Nurturing knowledge through visits

Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (BKISHHB) recently received a group visit from the residents and occupants of the Welfare Home Complex, Department of Community Development (JAPEM).

23 male and 22 female which include children and adults accompanied by few officers and staff from JAPEM, touring nine different galleries at BKISHHB. ​​​






The group visit was intended to maximise the knowledge of the residents and occupants of the Welfare Home Complex, JAPEM about Islamic history and at the same time giving exposure to the residents and occupants of the Welfare Home Complex, JAPEM about the Islamic writings and the history of Islamic scientists. 


Besides that, the tour was one of the activities for the residents and occupants of the Welfare Home Complex, JAPEM during the final term school holidays. 


Starting on the 12 December 2022, the exhibition galleries at BKISHHB was reopened to the public from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. every day except Friday. 


Among the highlights within the nine galleries include the Mushaf collections of different shapes and sizes, the Noble Hair of the Rasulullah Shallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, pieces of burdah, replicas of footprint, swords, and the walking sticks of Rasulullah Shallahu Alaihi Wasallam, various collection of Islamic manucripts, Islamic Astronomical instruments, walking sticks, prayer beads, fossils, and more.

BKISHHB is a manifestation desired by His Majesty Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam to preserve the Islamic treasures through collection, conservation, analysis, exhibition, dissemination, and research. It also functions as a place to share deductions for the development of Islam and the general public and to make it as ‘One Stop Islamic Tourism Destination’.
