Enhance the knowledge on the life of Rasulullah

Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (BKISHHB) as an institution that preserves and exhibits valuable Islamic knowledge  heritage and is responsible for collecting, researching, and spreading Islamic knowledge.






In line with His Majesty Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan Negara Brunei Darussalam titah during the official opening ceremony of BKISHHB building, BKISSHB had been actively planning and implementing various research programs and activities. One such activity was Jalsah Ilmiyyah (knowledge session) through teaching, learning and writing in order to achieve the vision of BKISSHB as a center for Islamic knowledge which inculcates knowledge culture through various knowledge activities.​​


 





On Wednesday, 4 Zulkaedah 1444, corresponding 24th May 2023, BKISSHB held a Jalsah Ilmiyah, a closed knowledge sharing session among its workforce. The title of the session was ‘Mimbar Nabi ﷺ: Sejarah dan Fadilatnya’ which was delivered by Dr. Nezar Mahmoud Kasem Alsheikh, acting director of Dar Al-Siddiq for Sciences, Jeddah. The event took place at BKISSHB auditorium at 9 am. ​





The knowledge sharing session was aimed at increasing the BKISHHB workforce knowledge and information on the life of prophet Muhammad ﷺ especially on the history of the prophet Muhammad pulpit through hadits, sirah of the prophet, and history books. BKISSHB members also had the opportunity to see a replica of prophet Muhammad ﷺ pulpit for the very first time and learned more in depth about the construction of the pulpit which was built in 8th Hijra. The pulpit was destroyed after An-Nabawi mosque caught fire in 654 Hijra.​







Dr. Nezar was able to create a replica of the pulpit after extensive research. The replica was built exactly according to the actual size and made with the same material as the original pulpit. The material was made of wood from ‘Athal’ tree or better known as Tarfa’ tree which could be found in Madinah Al-Munawwarah. A small size replica was also made. The research about prophet Muhammad ﷺ pulpit was published in a book titled al-Durr al-Thamin fi Fada’il Mimbar al-Nabi al-Amin ﷺ (Valuable gem about advantages of prophet Muhammad ﷺ pulpit).


The presentation about the prophet pulpit was delivered in Arabic language which was translated to Malay by Dr. Haji Awang Mohammed Hussain bin Pehin Penyurat Haji Awang Ahmad, director of BKISHHB to allow the presentation to be fully understood.


Dr. Nezar primary research focused on the life of prophet Muhammad ﷺ including his journey and historical places that had connection with him. Dr. Nezar was in Brunei Darussalam to visit BKISSHB to see the exhibition collections especially gallery about prophet Muhammad ﷺ and gallery about prophet Muhammad ﷺ companions.


Dr. Nezar expertise was in the field of Al-Quran, hadith and fiqh. His visit to the country was to explore cooperation and collaboration opportunities between Dar Al-Siddiq for sciences, Jeddah and BKISSHB in various fields such as exhibition, conservation and preservation of collections.


The Jalsah Ilmiyah continued with a question-and-answer session from the attendees. The session ended with a certificate of appreciation and a souvenir presentation to Dr. Nezar by director of BKISHHB, Dr. Haji Awang Mohammed Hussain bin Pehin Penyurat Haji Awang Ahmad.
