Bandar Seri Begawan,Wednesday 6 September 2023 - Balai Khazanah Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah has received a visit from the experts's working group on Military Medicine of ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting Plus (ADMM-Plus).
A group consisting of 66 people represent a number of ADMM-Plus member of states was welcomed by YM Muhammad Arif Bin Kassim, Scientific Officer BKISHHB upon their arrival to the instituion.
The presence of the group in Brunei Darussalam is to attend the 17th ASEAN Defense Ministers' Meeting Plus Which was held for two days, from 4th to 5th September 2023.
Throughout the visit to the gallery, the tour group had the opportunity to take a closer look at the artefacts of the Islamic heritage which symbolise the glory of Islam such as collections of handwritten Mushaf with various sizes, replica swords of Prophet Rasulullah SAW and his Companions, influential Muslim scholars and many more.
One of the members of the group, Lieutentnant Colonel Nadjar Suprijono, from Indonesia is very impressed with the collection of materials exhibit at BKISHHB and he acknowledges many benefits are gained about the history of Islam in Brunei.
Meanwhile, Htet Naing Aung, Head of Department of Health Promotion from Myanmar said that he is interested in Islamic scientists who are thriving in various field including medicine.
Descriptions of Muslim Scholars are displayed at the Knowledge of Heritage section in Gallery 5 which gives information about Islamic scholars in various fields such as science, physics, mathematics, chemistry, geography, astronomy and medicine.
Among those Islamic scholars are Muhammad al-Idrisi, Abu ar-Rayhan al-Biruni, Ibn Sina, Ibn al-Haytham, Az-Zahrawi, Jabir bin Hayyan, Al-Khawarizmi, Maryam al-Asturlabiyyah, Fatimah al-Fihriyyah and many more.
